John knowles (1926-2001)

John Knowles who was born in west virginia, was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and Yale University. In the this book he compared The Devon School to his own experience in Exeter in the summer of 1943. After Exeter, he attended Yale, which was when he spent 8 months serving in the Airforce in World War II. He wrote for Hartford Courant, and was assistant editor for Holiday Magazine. He was also the winner of the William Faulkner Award and the Rosenthal Award of the National Institute of Arts and Letters. Some of Knowles works were Morning in Antibes, Double vision:American Thoughts Abroad, Indian Summer, The Paragan, and the most known of all, A Seperate Peace.
